ICARUS is a an automated trading strategy based solely on Forex.
ICARUS is a steady trend following strategy that aims at taking advantages on big mouvments or long lasting trends while minimizing risks and losses on short lasting ones.
ICARUS is an automated trading strategy. In other words it is a trading robot (or cBot) that runs without rest on VPS located near the servers of the trading platform cTrader. It opens a position, manages and closes it without any human intervention.
This hudge breakthgough can be achieved thanks to the development of the technological and data processing in the late decade.
cTrader was founded in 2010 and the development software company, hired to create ICARUS, in 2015.
10 years ago, trading cBots were only a dream for ordinary citizens like me and were only used by the largest investments banks in the world. Today their technology is available for everyone.
These breakthroughts allowed the creation of the ICARUS cBot.
ICARUS operates solely on the Forex (Foreign Exchange Market, opened 5 days a week) which represents one of the most liquid market in the world where more than 6 trillion $ are exchanged everyday.

Endurance
A cBot can trade 24/24 at any time of the day and night, every day of the week without tiredness which a human cannot physically do.

A cBot running on a powerful VPS can execute orders to open, close and manage a trade in just 1-2 milliseconds. To make a funny comparison the famous blinck of an eye last the enormity of 100-150 milliseconds.
ICARUS runs on a state-of-the-art, fully dedicated server in one of the, if not the most powerful VPS provider in their EQUINIX servers in London.
Precision
A cBot does not make any mistake in calculation. The intrinsic logic of the ICARUS Strategy relies on numerous conditions to open, manage and close a trade that no human can do for even one single asset. A cBot can manage hundreds of assets at the same time without making any mistakes.
Emotionnal Weakness
Perhaps the most important advantage of all: a cBot has no flaws in psychological weaknesses that a human trader can have when running through a trade weighting several thousands of euros/dollars. No more stop loss that moves or trades opened or closed too rashly. A cBot remains cold when it comes order management which is an essential quality to have in order to suceed in trading.
How I created ICARUS ?
During the pandemic I started trading manually. I started from nothing: learning finanacial market theory, trading secificities, chosing the best broker and the best VPS provider among hundreds that exist.
I realized then the potential of creating an automated strategy that could do each action but much better and much faster that I could ever do.
I spent the next 2 years developping it with the best developpers that specialized only in that niche. I ask for settings that I had then to adjust backtesting it on previous historical data in order to pick the the best entries and the best way to manage a trade. This required a lot of time and effort before completing the strategy tha is now live.
Forex
Forex, or Foreign Exchange, is a totally decentralized maket place where currency pairs are traded electronically through computers. This market is open 24 hours per day, 5 days per week with no interruption and represent more than 6 trillion $ every day which makes it the most liquid market in the world. Since it is the most traded market, it is consequently the less volatile too. Fluctuation in prices are smaller than for other assets like stocks and that makes it the less riskier market to trade.
cTrader
cTrader is a traditional trading platform created in 2010 that can also host automated cBot such as ICARUS. Its performance and the liberty it allows to developers make it the best platform to run automated Bot.
Best reliable 3rd party
But an automated trading robot in itself is not sufficient to perform. As a human needs a computer to trade or reads its mails, a cBot is simply a sotware that needs the same. It has to be stored in a computer ad hoc with ressources allocated to itself only.
That is why I am using a VPS to run ICARUS.
A VPS is a Virtual Private Server virtual machine that provides virtualized server resources on a physical server that is shared with other users.
I store ICARUS on a top-of-the-art VPS on the TradingfxVPS servers in London. It carries the best and latest computer technologies (DDR4 RAM and i9 CPU) and is connected to the cTrader servers through Equinix , the world leader data center and connectivity company.
